Operating times at The Auctioneers Arms

After our first week of re-opening and following feedback from our customers, staff and the Manager, the management committee have reviewed the operating terms and conditions to ensure that our customers have a safe and enjoyable experience when visiting the pub.

The following will be in place from Wednesday 15th July 2020 :-

Monday – Closed
Tuesday – Closed
Wednesday – 14:00 – 22:00hrs
Thursday – 14:00 – 22:00hrs
Friday – 12:00 – 0:00hrs
Saturday – 12:00 – 0:00hrs
Sunday – 12:00 – 22:00hrs

  • Children – Children will be allowed in the beer garden and The Gavel (not the bar) until 19:00hrs, providing they are supervised and seated with their parent/guardian at all times.
  • Dogs – Dogs will be allowed in the Bar and the beer garden (not The Gavel) but must be kept on a lead at all times
  • Drinks ordering – In the Bar, customers may order their drinks directly from the bar, ensuring they maintain social distancing at all times. Table service will continue in The Gavel
  • Smoking – Customers are asked to be considerate to others and only smoke in the “designated” smoking area outside
  • Food – Light bar meals to be reintroduced as soon as possible
  • Track and Trace – Customers to text their contact details to a dedicated mobile phone number upon entry to the premises. This device is locked away and the details will only be used should we be contacted by the NHS
  • Quiz night – It is hoped that the Tuesday quiz night will be re-introduced in August

The Auctioneers Arms Re-opening

After some careful consideration and to help ensure we are fully prepared to welcome you back safely, we will now be re-opening our doors at 2pm on Wednesday 8th July.

Please do not visit us if you are showing any signs or symptoms of Covid-19. Follow the Government guidance on isolating and we will see you fit and well in a couple of weeks.

Please be patient as we try our best to accommodate you. These rules will be reviewed regularly and eased as soon as it is safe to do so. Please don’t be offended if we can’t fit you in, we will do everything we can to accommodate you all but we won’t compromise the safety of our staff or other customers.

We are afraid that it will be over 18s only for now and no dogs will be allowed either. This will apply to both inside the pub and the beer garden. We are a family and community pub and it’s been a difficult decision but until we know exactly how things will work, we don’t feel it will be the right place for children or dogs. Bear with us and we will try and ease this as soon as is practical and safe to do so.

We won’t be serving food for the first few weeks but again we will re-introduce this as soon as we can.

Entrance to the pub will now only be through the front door and exit through the rear door as we will be operating a one-way system throughout the building. Please read and follow any signage to help make this is as simple as possible.

Due to our new one-way system there will no longer be any smoking allowed around the front of the pub.

You may be asked to fill in a form detailing the contact details of at least one person in your group in line with Government guidelines on ‘track and trace’. This information will be destroyed 21 days after the date it was taken. More guidance will be provided on this matter as it becomes clear what the requirements will be.

Hand sanitising points will be set up at the entrance and around the pub, please use them as you enter the building and as often as you can once you are in.

Our staff will be regularly sanitising all touch points and the place will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised every day.

Tables will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so be patient if we are full. We will not be taking bookings and no one will receive any priority or preference over anyone else.

We have set the pub out in a way which offers the maximum safety so please don’t be tempted to move things around once you are in (including the beer garden of course).

Customers will be designated a seating area, drinks will be ordered at your table and delivered to you by our amazing staff. Please be patient as busy times. There will be no standing or ordering drinks at the bar.

Our drinks menu may be a little limited in the short term so please bear with us.

All sales will be by payment card/contactless payment only.

Please observe all social distancing rules. We know it’s going to be hard, but we’ve all got to play by the rules. If you can’t keep your distance you may be asked to leave.

Accessing the toilets will be via our one-way system and will be limited to maximum of two at a time.  Please be patient, plan ahead (don’t get caught short!), be sensible and remember to hand sanitise.

We are doing our very best so please be patient, courteous and good humoured and we will do the same. If you don’t think you will be able to follow the above then please stay away.

Our new temporary opening times including ‘drinking up’ time are;

Monday and Tuesday – Closed

Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday – 2pm until 10pm

Friday and Saturdays – 2pm until 11pm

We are looking forward to a friendly, safe environment and atmosphere and it’s going to take a lot of getting used to, but we will get there and try and make it as normal as possible.
